Design & Technology
Creativity, Celebrating ideas and Innovation is at the Heart of Design and Technology at St Marks Academy. Sustainable, Explorative and Creative User centric design that incorporates new materials and CAD and CAM is the DNA of how we teach. Learners of Design and Technology learn how to research, generate ideas, problem solve and bring to life great ideas through experiencing the Design Process. In Years 7 to 8, students develop skills as Designers, by experiencing Graphics, Textiles and Resistant Materials Technology. GCSE Design and Technology is an exciting arena for students to develop real life prototypes for products that can encompass a range of materials such as plastics, wood, metal, textile and paper and card.
