St Mark's in top 16% of Schools Nationally* for Academic Progress
Our GCSE results put us well above national average, and in the top 16% of schools nationally*. As we have a significant proportion of students who come to us with no KS2 data we use CATs tests to generate an equivalent grade. When these results are included too that makes our progress score even more impressive (+0.5) indicating the rapid progress that all our students are able to make. If this was an official progress score, it would put us in some of the top schools in the country.
You may remember me writing to you earlier this month to inform you of the tremendous GCSE and Post 16 results that the young people achieved in their summer exams. Now that the grades have been confirmed by the department of education, we are pleased to announce that they are officially even better!
As I am sure you agree, this is absolutely amazing and I am extremely proud of all the hard work and dedication that every member of the St. Mark’s community puts into making this a reality. We really are on a journey towards outstanding and it’s an exciting time for us all.
St. Mark’s continues to have open mornings every Wednesday at 9am for the next three weeks, and we would encourage you to tell your friends and family who have young children to come and visit us and see how we are enabling young people to achieve nearly half a grade better than others across the country.
Thank you for your continued support of the Academy, I am very much looking forward to working with you all again this Academic year.
